Honckenya peploides or Sea sandwort(UK) or Seaside Sandplant (Canada)[1] is the only species in the genus Honckenya of the flowering plant family Caryophyllaceae. It is often spelled "Honkenya". It has a circumboreal distribution.
The plant is a succulent perennial growing at the edge of the sea. It has small greenish white 5 merous flowers with 10 stamens in the male flowers borne in the leaf axils. [2]The fruit capsule opens in 3 valves.
